Sri Lankan airlines lands at Mattala airport

A Sri Lankan Airlines flight has made its maiden landing at the Mattala international airport in Hambantota, Minister Priyankara Jayasekara announced.

Airline said that its technical and cabin crew on board the Airbus A330 received a warm welcome from the staff at the Airport.

Mattala airport included all modern facilities in this region. First stage of the airport would declare open on March 18.

According to the minister US$209 million has been allocated for the construction work of this new airport.
